The Children’s Theatre Company (CTC); Kerry A. Onxley, Artistic Director presents its annual SUMMER THEATRE WORKSHOPS.  These summer theatre workshops are designed to introduce newcomers to the world of theatre and challenge young performing veterans to perfect advanced theatrical concepts and production techniques.  All workshops conclude with performance demonstrations.

“The premise of our summer workshop program has always been simple and straightforward: participation in the arts can bring about fundamental change in the lives of young people,” says Onxley. “Our purpose is bold: to give Southwest Louisiana’s young people the opportunity to train in the arts, to learn a specific art form, and to develop the creativity, discipline, critical-thinking and other skills necessary to be successful in the art form and in other learning areas.”

  8-18 Years Old       June 11-15      9:00AM-2:00PM                                                            $150.00

According to Onxley, “This fast-paced, educational opportunity offers a large cast a lot of fun technique in a short period of time.  While the students are learning all aspects of the theatre, they are building self-confidence, discipline, self-awareness and leadership skills”.   Professional instructors lead students through a fun-filled exploration of voice, movement, creative play-making and character development.  The session concludes with an abbreviated performance.  Extreme Theatre has a limited enrollment.
