Charla Blake, Executive Director of Project Build A Future (PBAF)
Rev. Henry Mancuso, President of Project Build A Future [PBAF] has announced the selection of Ms. Charla Blake as Executive Director of the local not-for-profit agency. Over the past fifteen years, PBAF has constructed 100 quality, affordable homes. Currently six additional homes are under construction and 20 more are in the planning stages.
In announcing her selection, Mancuso said, “Her background in architecture, interior design, teaching, and development are all important. But what most impressed us about Ms. Blake is her passion for community design, livable communities, and place making.”
A native of Cameron, Ms. Blake has earned architectural degrees at USL, the University of Texas at Arlington, and is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Missouri. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects, Louisiana Partnership for the Arts, and the Calcasieu Historical Preservation Society.
In accepting her new role, Ms. Blake commented, “Building new and strengthening existing neighborhoods in our area is vital to the future of our community, and I am so proud to be a part of an organization with such a caring and long lasting mission.”
Rev. Mancuso states that “PBAF has already made a footprint in our community. Under the leadership of Ms. Blake, I have no doubt that we will respond to the huge need for quality, affordable housing.”
