 FOR “WALK WITH EASE” PROGRAM

The City of Lake Charles Recreation and Parks Department will offer the Arthritis Foundation “Walk with Ease” program, a six-week group exercise plan designed to reduce pain associated with arthritis as well as improve overall health. The grant was awarded to the City of Lake Charles through the National Recreation and Parks Association.

The six-week program has been proven to increase balance, strength and walking pace; build confidence in one’s ability to be physically active; and improve overall health.

“Walk With Ease” will be held each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. beginning on May 7 through June 15. Classes will be held at two community centers: Purple Heart Recreation Center, located at 4305 Ave. H, and Willie McCullor Landry Center, located at 416 Dr. Michael DeBakey Dr.
